LEWISTON — Erin Lachance and Katrina Jadocan scored exactly 10 minutes apart to break a scoreless halftime stalemate and send host Lewiston to its first KVAC Class A field hockey win of the season, 2-0, over Camden Hills on Monday at McDuffie Field.
After a quiet first half, the action picked up in the second half, but only the Blue Devils (1-7) could take advantage.
Lachance scored off an assist from Megan Gosselin just over seven minutes into the second half, then Jadocan doubled the lead on her own with 12:50 left in the game.
Lewiston goalie Cece Landry and Windjammers (3-5) netminder Jenna Stearn both had three saves for their respective teams.
Spruce Mountain 3, Oak Hill 2
LITCHFIELD — Visting Spruce Mountain jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead and held on to beat Oak Hill 3-2 in a Class C South field hockey clash Monday at Carrie Ricker School.
Alexis Beardsley and Emily Goding staked the Phoenix (5-3) to the two-goal halftime lead, with Rylee Saunders assisting on Beardsley’s goal.
Zoe Buteau fed Desirae Dumais and Maegan Sheehy for the Raiders’ (4-6) goals, but Avery Williams’ second-half tally was the difference for the Phoenix.
MacKenzie Thibeault made eight saves in goal for Oak Hill, including three of the diving variety. Sydney Shaffer turned away six shots for Spruce Mountain.
