LEWISTON — Rita B. Madore, 95, of Auburn passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 2, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 19, 1921 a daughter of the late Arsene and Helene (Levasseur) Moreau. She grew up in the Lewiston area and attended local schools.
On Dec. 1, 1945 she married Armand Madore and they started a family together. For many years Rita worked at CMMC in Central Supply performing autoclaving service for surgical procedures.
She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Golden Age Seniors, St. Anne’s Sodality and Survivance Francaise.
Rita will always be remembered for her love of both hosting and attending family gatherings. Family was very important to her. She also loved to travel to many different places, go to concerts and play cards with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by many.
She is survived by her children; Claire Blais and her husband Norm of Florida, Louise Carroll of New Hampshire, Paul Madore of Portland and Annette Wetherby of Florida. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Scott Blais, Michael and Mark Carroll, and Jeff, Jessie and Jenna Wetherby, seven great-grandchildren, Meridith, Tyler, Anna, Rachael, Ryan, Jack and Brooke as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Armand, a grandson, Steve, a son-in-law, Gerry, two brothers and two sisters.
