AUGUSTA — Maine-ly Harmony women’s barbershop chorus will hold a public bean supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Episcopal Church, 209 Eastern Ave.
Veteran bean supper chef Nancy Bossie will prepare the meal and the chorus members will provide homemade desserts. Visitors shouldn’t be surprised if the chorus bursts into song while serving its customers.
Proceeds will go to the chorus to help with the cost of safety bars for their risers and to the church.

A judging contest on the best homemade pie will be held with the winner awarded a free dinner for two for the next community supper. Pies may be entered into the contest.

WATERFORD — The Wilkins House’s community potluck supper will be served at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the meetinghouse, 15 Plummer Hill Road beside the Waterford Congregational Church.

LEWISTON — Pasta for Priests to benefit Seminarians will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Holy Cross Church Hall, 1080 Lisbon St.
Those attending should use the entrance on Baird Avenue or handicapped-accessible entrance on St. Croix Street.
The benefit is sponsored by Knights of Columbus of Basilica Council 106, Holy Trinity Council 2358 in Lisbon, Holy Family Council 10019, Holy Cross Council 12652 and Our Lady of The Rosary Council 13181 in Sabattus, and tickets will be sold after these masses Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 14 and 15. Checks should be payable to Prince of Peace.
There will be a 50/50 and raffle table at the event.
