RUMFORD — “Maine’s Most Unique Comedian” Bill Picard leads a great lineup to 49 Frankin’s Mystic Theater as Maine Event Comedy returns to Rumford, Saturday, Nov.4, at 8 p.m. The show will also feature Mark Reilly, John Sucich, Scott McLaughlin and Dawn Hartill.
Born with cerebral palsy and confined to a wheelchair, Picard has used his physical disability to educate and entertain. He’s performed throughout Maine and was a finalist in Portland’s Funniest Professional Contest. Refusing to let his condition slow him down, Picard earned a business degree at the University of Maine, owns several rental properties and tours as a motivational speaker.
Reilly, who moonlights as a U.S. mail carrier, was a finalist in Portland’s Got Talent and recently performed at the Broken Record Show in the Wild West Comedy Festival in Nashville, Tennessee.
Sucich is a Boston-area comedian who has performed in New York City and the Cleveland Comedy Festival. Audiences love his unique take on life as a husband and father of three girls.
Boston’s McLaughlin is a regular at the world-famous “Comedy Studio” in Harvard Square and was selected for the Boston Comedy and Arts Festival. Hartill, a mother to three teenage boys, recently competed in Empire’s Comedy Classic in Portland.
The Mystic Theater is located at 49 Franklin St. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased at Bartash’s and All That Jazz on Congress Street or online at 49franklin.com. The show is for ages 18-and-older. FMI: call 207-369-0129
