MINOT — “Scouting in Minot” was the subject of the Minot Historical Society program on Oct. 10. More than 20 current and former Scouts were in attendance.
Joe Staples, a longtime Scout, gave a brief history of scouting dating back to 1904. Current Scouts spoke to the levels of Scouting, Daisy to Eagle and Lifetime, shared pictures, uniforms past and present and stories of their many activities.
The membership was reminded of and shared their own Scouting experiences. The society thanked leader Jeff Tarantino and Troop 139 for participating.
Minot Historical Society meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month, with the exception of February and December, at the Minot Municipal Building. All are invited.
The next meeting will be held at the Municipal Building at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11. A short program honoring all veterans will be held followed by light refreshments and conversation. All veterans are welcome to attend.
