LEWISTON — Sherry Ann Perkins died in her sleep Saturday, Oct. 28, at CMMC in Lewiston, with her sisters at her side.
She was born Jan. 18, 1947, in Portland, to Richard Brewster and Phyllis (Moore) Brewster. After attending schools in the Portland area, she graduated from Sterns High School in Millinocket. She married Gerald Perkins and lived in many places throughout Maine and in Boston, Mass.
She worked at various jobs as a domestic engineer, short-order cook and waitress. She was also employed at several textile mills and food-processing plants. She retired from the Lewiston Public Library. She later volunteered at the Red Cross.
Her many interests included going to sock hops, beano and playing pool. Going to movies with her nieces and traveling to the coast with friends were special times for her. She quilted, crocheted, knitted and made jewelry, selling many projects at craft fairs and flea markets.
She loved cats and had many of them over the years. One of her greatest worries was for her cat, Zoey. She was greatly relieved and happy that her niece, Laurie, took her to live with her and her other cats.
She is survived by two sisters, Lena Greene and her husband, George of Augusta and Barbara Landry and her husband, John of Auburn; five nieces, Laurie Dudley, Kelly Greene, Erin Turner, Marie and Sarah Faucher; three great-nieces, Bridgette Casper, Hailee Turner and Abby Faucher; four great-nephews, Patrick Greene, Tommy Cunneen, Shane Elliott and Gage Turner; and one great-great-niece, Kylie Casper; and a number of aunts and cousins.
She was predeceased by a younger sister, Dianne Dudley, as well as her mother and father.
