Local veterans’ organizations will hold observances at parks and monuments in the area on Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11. The public is invited to attend. 

Members of George Bunten Post 10 American Legion in Livermore Falls, Frank L Mitchell Post 3335 VFW in Jay and Lane-Dube Post 33 AMVETS in Jay and their Auxiliaries invite the public to join them at one or all of the scheduled stops. Each brief service will remember and honor all veterans, past and present.

8:45 a.m. — Memorial Bridge in Livermore Falls: Prayer, wreath-laying, firing squad, honoring those lost at sea.

9:10 a.m. — Brettuns Memorial in Livermore: Prayer, wreath-laying, firing squad.

9:40 a.m. — Union Park in Livermore Falls: Prayer, wreath-laying, firing squad.

10 a.m. — World War II Monument in Chisholm Square, Jay: Prayer, wreath-laying, firing squad.

10:20 a.m. — Veterans’ Memorial in Fayette: Prayer, wreath-laying, firing squad.

6 p.m. — Wilton Congregational Church: Patriotic songs and readings, vocalist Sammie Angel, light refreshments.
