LEWISTON  — Maine Event Comedy presents “New England’s Most Unique Comedian” Bill Picard at the Lewiston Elks lodge, Saturday, Nov. 18, at 8 p.m. The show will also feature Janet McNamara, Joe Flynn, Kevin Neales, Steve Cloutier and Jed Bloom.

 

Born with cerebral palsy and confined to a wheelchair, Picard has used his physical disability to educate and entertain. He’s performed throughout Maine and was a finalist in Portland’s Funniest Professional Contest. Refusing to let his condition slow him down, Picard earned a business degree at the University of Maine, owns several rental properties, and tours as a motivational speaker.

 

Flynn, a likable curmudgeon from Salem, Mass., recently performed at Comix at Mohegan Sun. He’s a two-time finalist in New England’s Best Bar Comic Contest and a runner-up in the Witch City Comedy Competition.

 

Boston’s McNamara has been winning over audiences with her conversational style and awkwardly charming energy. She won the 2014 BeanTown Comedy Riots and appeared on season 10 of NBC’s American Idol.

 

Neales has worn a hat while slinging jokes at Boston’s Comedy Studio, the Maine Comedy Festival and The Ice House in Pasadena, California.

 

When he’s not overhauling snowmobiles, and ATVs, Cloutier is on New England stages discussing creative drink concoctions and trying to figure out the strange beings we call ‘Mainers’.

 

Bloom was a finalist at Empire’s Comedy Summer Classic in Portland. His goal as a comedian is to not get fired from his day job as a teacher.
