AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library has announced the December schedule for teen activities.

Maine Job Corps: Those ages 16 to 24 interested in serving in the Job Corps may contact Cathie Gavett at 207-458-5369 to find out more about the program and who is eligible. She will arrange a mutually convenient time to meet at the Auburn Public Library.

Tweens in the Teen Space: Noon to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 6 and 13, in the Teen Space. Sixth-graders are invited on half-day Wednesdays to get a head start on homework, do crafts, play board games or just hang out. 

Teen Anime Club: 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the Androscoggin Community Room. Teens, ages 12 to 18, can drop in to talk about their favorite (or least favorite) manga, watch the week’s selection of anime and try a hand at drawing characters. This program was made possible by the P&G Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Snacks will be provided.

Homework Help for Teens: 2:30 to 4 p.m. Thursdays, Dec. 7 and 14, in the Teen Space. Students in grades seven to 12 may stop by the Teen Space for help in any subject giving difficulty. There will be healthy snacks. During this time, the Teen Space is reserved for those either getting a start on their homework or seeking help from the available tutor. Teens coming to hang out are asked to arrive after 4 p.m.

Tech Talk Tuesday: 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, in the Teen Space. Teens can stop by for a healthy snack and conversation about technology. This program is for teens, ages 12 to 18.

Gaming Hour: 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 13 and 27, in the Androscoggin Community Room. Teens can take a break from studying for games and snacks. There will be video games and snacks. The library has an XBox, a Wii and a small collection of games. Teens are welcome to bring their favorites, but only those rated T and E. This is just for teens ages 12 to 18. This program was made possible in part by donations from the P&G Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.

Teens! Matinee Movie — “A Christmas Story”: 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, in the Community Room. This month’s movie will see a Christmas class, rated PG. The program will include a snack and is just for teens ages 12 to 18.

Safe Voices Drop-In Visit: 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in the Teen Space. Whitney from Safe Voices will drop by the library to chat about relationships and work on projects. The program is for teens ages 12 to 18.

The library will continue its Teen Life Skills program in January with “Health & Wellness.” The weekly programs will look at healthy eating, meal planning, food safety and food waste. Each program will include preparing something healthy.
