Socrates Cafe talking money, evil
BRIDGTON — Socrates Cafe will meet at 6:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at the Bridgton Community Center. Following a meet and greet, the discussion will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The topic will be “Is Love of Money the Root of All Evil?” with moderator Ted Gerber.

New knitting group to meet
HARRISON — A new knitting group will start meeting from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Mondays beginning Dec. 4 at the Caswell Conservancy Center on Main Street.
The group is open to all regardless of experience.
Women’s club meets in Livermore Falls
LIVERMORE FALLS — GFWC/Livermore Falls Women’s Club met recently to discuss activities and help it does for the Harris House, as well as proceeds collected from the election bake sale that will support Area Youth Sports. Representatives from Healthy Community Coalition spoke on nutrition.
The December meeting will be with the Livermore Historical Society at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at LaFleur’s Restaurant, Jay. Margaret Emery will entertain with holiday music.

Orders being taken for fruit
DIXFIELD — Webb River Seventh-day Adventist School and Mt. Blue Moccasin’s Pathfinder Youth Group is having a fruit fundraiser.
Community members can order Florida ruby red grapefruit, California navel oranges and clementines in various package sizes.
Once a month through March orders will be taken. The last day to order for December delivery is Thursday, Dec. 7.
The fruit will be ready for pick-up from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at the Webb River Seventh-day Adventist School, 58 Pine St.

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club plays at 9:15 a.m. Fridays in the Oxford Recreation building on King Street.
