PERU — His Hands Support Ministries will have an open house at the new office, 1066 Auburn Road, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 2 and 9. There will be an assortment of international gift items available for suggested donations, as well as information about the ministry itself and the children it is helping around the world.
His Hands Support Ministries was founded in 2003 and officially recognized as a 501c3 tax-exempt charitable organization in 2007. Born out of a need to support children in their education, His Hands started helping children in Haiti in 2003 and eventually spread out to a total of 14 countries, with more countries projected to be added in 2018.
His Hands is an all-volunteer ministry focusing on child sponsorship. Because of the all-volunteer status they are able to send 100 percent of the sponsorship funds to the program country to aid in the support of the children in the programs their partners are running. The programs range from after-school tutoring and feeding programs, to running their own schools and children’s homes.
Sponsorship fees start at $10 a month and go up to $35 a month, depending on which country the sponsored child is in and what program they are participating in.
Opportunities exist for volunteers to become involved in a myriad of areas, including sponsoring children, going on team trips to visit their international partners and the children in the countries they serve, as well as volunteer office help. General donations are also welcomed.
