MEXICO — The Mexico Public Library will have special closings as staff completes inventory and for the upcoming holidays.
The last children’s story time will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16. The library will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, and will be closed on Saturdays, Dec. 23 and 30. It will also be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 26 and 27, in observance of Christmas.
Winter hours will be effective from Jan. 3 through May 13. The library will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 2, in observance of New Year’s Day.
It will be closed Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays and open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays.
Winter will bring with it the “Fabulous Fridays” series. Throughout the winter, the first Friday of the month will be Family Game Night. Bring the whole family to the library for light snacks and a choice of the board game collection or bring personal favorites.
The second Friday will be Family Movie Night. Watch a family-friendly movie on the big screen. Concessions, including popcorn, candy and drinks, will be available. Show times will be announced.
The third Friday will be coloring events with materials provided. The fourth Friday will be Taste the World events with music, snacks and desserts from a faraway country. Watch the Facebook page for movie show times, special contests and other events.
A holiday movie showing, “Prancer” (G), will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22.
