RUMFORD — The Rumford Historical Society has launched a fundraising activity. The society has prepared a 2018 calendar for sale, in time for Christmas gift-giving.
This year’s calendar features the buildings on Congress Street that were recently placed on the National Historic Registry as a Historic District.
Many of the buildings were built in the early 1900s during the time when Hugh J. Chisholm was developing a town, built to support his paper mill, and the power plant, which served it and the community.
Calendars are on sale at Bartash’s Gift Shop on Congress Street during regular business hours, or at the Archives Office in the Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays. Cost of the calendar is $8.
Barbara Bartash is holding a Rumford Historical Society calendar for 2018.
