Steady snow started about 8 a.m. Tuesday in the Lewiston-Auburn area. Schools in the area have been canceled. Another three to 11 inches of snow are expected to fall Tuesday, adding to the 6 inches in Lewiston, 5 inches in Bethel and 8 inches that fell in Carrabassett Valley on Saturday.

Despite the storm, voting for the runoff election for mayor is taking place in Lewiston.  Polls opened at 7 a.m. at Longley Elementary School, 145 Birch St., and will close at 8 p.m. The school building is open despite classes being canceled Tuesday.
