Bean had a game-high 20 points and also had 14 rebounds. Aaron Vermette had nine points and also blocked five shots for the Rebels (1-3).
Cohen Donnell had paced the Raiders (0-4) with 19 points, while Darryn Bailey had nine points.
Portland 66, Oxford Hills 50
PORTLAND — Three players were in double figures for Portland in a 66-50 victory over Oxford Hills in a Class AA basketball contest.
Terion Moss paced the Bulldogs with 15 points and eight assists. Griffin Foley had 14 points while Emmanuel Yugu added 13.
Colton Carson led the Vikings (0-2) with 18 points.
Edward Little 64, Cheverus 54
AUBURN — Darby Shea had 23 points to pace the Red Eddies to a 64-54 victory over Cheverus in a Class AA contest.
After trailing 31-17, the Red Eddies went on a 30-12 run in the third quarter and buckled down defensively. In the fourth quarter EL outscored the Stags 17-11.
Wol Maiwen had 19 points in the victory for EL (3-0) while Ibn Khalid chipped in with 11.
Gray-NG 67, Freeport 64, OT
GRAY — Gray-New Gloucester’s Joiah Rottari drained a pair of free throws with two seconds remaining in overtime to seal a 67-64 win over visiting Freeport in the teams’ Western Maine Conference boys’ basketball battle .
Rottari had a 15 points on the night, including a game-high eight from the free throw line. John martin led the Patriots (2-1) with 18 points, and Zac Brady added 17 in the victory.
Toby Holt led the Falcons (1-1) with 14 points, while Ethan Sclar drained three 3-pointers and finished with 13 in the loss.
Nokomis 79, Mt. Blue 44
NEWPORT — Senior guard Zach Hartsgrove tickled the twines with a game-high 25 points as Nokomis cruised to a 79-44 victory over Mt. Blue in boys’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
Hartsgrove keyed the Warriors (1-1) big in the third quarter with 13 of his 25 points.
Sophomore forward Hunter Donald led the Cougars (0-2) with 15 points, while senior guard Marshall Doyon contributed 14 for Mt. Blue in the losing effort.
Lisbon 50, Mt. Abram 42
SALEM — Senior guard Jonah Sautter tossed 21 points to lead Lisbon to a 50-42 victory over Mt. Abram in boys’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
The Greyhounds went 7-of-8 from the line in the fourth quarter to help overcome a Roadrunner 37-33 lead after three.
Sophomore guard Nate Luce scored a team-high 18 points for Mt. Abram in the losing effort.
Dirigo 66, Winthrop 65
DIXFIELD — Senior forward Cooper Chiasson pounded out 25 points as Dirigo edged Winthrop 66-65 in boys’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
Chiasson controlled the boards and senior point guard Luke Lueders handled the pressure expertly to keep the Cougars (2-2) in the game down the stretch.
Alex Gorham made two key foul shots with seven seconds remaining to make it a two score game for Dirigo.

FRYEBURG — Junior forward Tucker Buzzell nailed a team-high 10 points to lead Fryeburg to a 38-33 overtime triumph over Leavitt in boys’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
Freshman guard Wyatt Hathaway tallied a team-leading 10 points with four rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Hornets (0-3) in the losing effort.
Boothbay 50, Monmouth 46
MONMOUTH — Senior point guard Kyle Ames collected 17 points to lead Boothbay to a 50-46 victory over Monmouth in boys’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
The Seahawks (2-1) were able to build an insurmountable 16-point lead in the third quarter behind Ames and sophomore forward Hunter Crocker.
The Mustangs (1-3) came storming back in the fourth quarter to make it a game. Sophomore guard Gabe Martin recorded 12 points on four field goals and two free throws for Monmouth.
Deering 73, Lewiston 42
PORTLAND — Senior forward Ben Onek drained a game-high 18 points as Deering dispatched Lewiston 50-46 in boys’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
Senior guard Darryl Germain produced 10 of his 16 points in the second quarter to construct a 46-17 lead for the Rams (2-0) at halftime.
Senior forward Garrett Poussard tabulated eight points on four field goals for the Blue Devils (0-3) in the losing effort.

FREEPORT — Jordan Grant had a double-double to pace Gray-New Gloucester to a 57-45 victory over Freeport in a girls’ WMC basketball game.
She had 24 points and 10 rebounds. Brie Jordan had 17 points, nine rebounds and six steals for the Patriots (2-1).
Poland 62, Maranacook 29
POLAND — Jess Seeley netted 20 points to power Poland to a 62-29 rout over Maranacook in girls’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
The undefeated Knights (3-0) came out strong with a 32-14 lead at the midpoint. Nathalie Theriault and Sophie Vallee posted matching points with four field goals, two free throws for 10 points each for Poland.
Winthrop 44, Mt. Abram 40
WINTHROP — Aaliyah WilsonFalcone produced a team-leading 16 points in a balanced attack as Mt. Abram succumbed 44-40 to Winthrop in girls’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
Summer Ross tossed an impressive 26 points for the Roadrunnes (1-2). But, there was little more in the way of offense from Mt. Abram.
Leavitt 59, Fryeburg 23
TURNER — Jayden Carpenter posted a game-high 14 points to lead Leavitt to a hefty 59-23 victory over Fryeburg in girls’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
The Hornets (2-1) consistently outpaced the Raiders in each frame, while tripling up 21-7 in the third quarter. Taylor White pitched in with 13 points for Leavitt.
Cheverus 57, Edward Little 46
PORTLAND — Senior guard Abby Cavallaro poured in a team-high 21 points to lead Cheverus to a 57-46 victory over Edward Little in girls’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
The Stags (1-2) had a killer third quarter with a 20-8 margin to put some distance between themselves and Edward Little down the stretch. Senior guard Emme Poulin contributed 16 points.
Sophomore guard Chantel Ouellette led the Red Eddies (2-1) with 16 points in the losing effort.
Deering 48, Lewiston 33
LEWISTON — Ashleigh Mathisen garnered a team-high 14 points to lift Deering to a 48-33 victory over Lewiston in girls’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
The Rams led 22-15 at the break. Delaney Haines made all five of her free throws and chipped in with 12 points for Deering.
The Blue Devils tried to come back from a 38-19 third quarter deficit with a 16-10 run in the final frame. But, it just wasn’t enough.
Victoria Harris scored nine points for Lewiston in the losing effort.
