DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Junior Nick Lynch registered a double-double and three other Bobcats scored in double figures to lead the Bates College men’s basketball team to an 86-80 victory over Alma College on the final day of the Daytona Beach Shootout on Thursday.
Lynch not only tallied a career-high 18 points, he also pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds to lead the Bobcats (6-3) to victory. He shot 7-14 from the floor and blocked a pair of shots as well.
Meanwhile, freshman James Mortimer turned in the best performance of his career with 15 points, six assists and two rebounds off the bench. Mortimer shot 5-of-7 from the floor and drained 4-of-5 shots from 3-point range.
Sophomore Tom Coyne of Falmouth scored 16 points and dished out five assists to go along with three rebounds and a pair of steals. Junior Max Hummel added 14 points, nine rebounds, two assists and a steal off the bench.
