Church collecting mother, baby items
SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner will be collecting mother and baby items for local Native Americans during January.
New and almost new items will be delivered to the Maine tribal communities most in need. Items may be dropped off at the church from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Sundays or during events at the church, 50 Main St., Route 219.
Items needed include sleepers, T-shirts, onesies, booties, socks, crib blankets, cotton baby caps, bottles and brush, diaper rash ointment and soft toys for babies, and, for mothers, lotion, toothbrush and tooth paste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, comb and brush and other toiletries.

Stanley Museum closes for winter
KINGFIELD — The Stanley Museum will close for daily visits on Saturday, Dec. 30. The museum will reopen on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
During January and February, the museum will be open for groups by appointment only, with 24 to 48 hour advance notice appreciated.
