BATH — Clarinetist Brad Terry will kick off the Chocolate Church Arts Center’s 2018 Kill the Chill Winter Concert Series on Saturday, Jan. 20. Terry will be joined by guitarist Peter Herman in the Chocolate Church annex, 804 Washington St., for this jazz instrumental concert that begins at 7:30 p.m.

“I have been playing this wonderful American music called ‘Jazz’ ever since my neighbor Benny Goodman convinced my mother to buy me a clarinet when I was 14,” said Terry, 80, a Bath resident.

This duo will play a variety of standard jazz tunes and spontaneously create musical conversations that transport the audience to a surprising and unlikely musical place. Terry has known these tunes for more than 50 years, but Herman brings with him a flood of new and refreshing harmonic and melodic ideas.

The Kill the Chill concert series features musicians who perform in the intimate venue of the downstairs annex. Seating is limited. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m.; doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets for this show are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and are available by calling 207-4442-8455 or for purchase online at www.chocolatechurcharts.org.
