NORWAY — Nancy B. Cutter (Burpee), 79, of Norway, beloved wife of 57 years to the late Robert C. Cutter, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, at home.
Born in Stoneham, Mass., on March 30, 1938, she had a master’s degree in education from Salem State College and a bachelor’s degree in education from Keene Teachers College (Keene State).
A retired fourth-grade teacher from Huckleberry Hill School in Lynnfield, Mass., she was a member of the Ladies Golf Association at Norway Country Club. Nancy lived in Reading, Mass., until she retired to Norway in 1998.
She was a great neighbor to all and a volunteer in her community. She had a passion for teaching, mentoring and supporting others. She loved to travel with friends. Nancy enjoyed reading and being involved in book clubs. She used her creativity to quilt and make cards. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had wonderful memories of her time at Thompson Lake in Maine.
She was the mother of Lauren Cutter and husband, Ernie Butilier, of Orleans, Mass.; Pamela Lydon and husband, Chris, of Marietta, Ga.; Ellen Nemec and husband, Drew, of Wakefield, Mass.; loving grandmother of Sara and Andrew Nemec and Jack Lydon; sister of Richard Burpee and wife, Beatrice Kertesz of Acton, Mass.
In addition to her parents William and Thelma Burpee. Nancy was preceded by her brother, Robert Burpee, and sister, Barbara Burpee.
