LEWISTON — The Central Maine Human Resources Association is offering a program at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, for employers, big and small, to update them on employment law issues during the past year.
The program will be at the Carriage House, 1119 Lisbon St., Lewiston. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. There is time to network before and after the program.
A panel of attorneys will bring attendees up to date on a series of pressing issues for employers. Each presenter will speak for 30 minutes, with the final 30 minutes for questions and answers. Topics include:
• Cellphones and their impact on the workplace;
• Political speech at work in this polarized world;
• Recent developments in the area of transgender employees;
• The latest news in sexual harassment; and
• Return to work issues.
The scheduled speakers are Kelly Hoffman from Norman Hanson & DeTroy, Rebecca Webber from Skelton Taintor & Abbott and Peter Lowe from Brann & Isaacson.
The cost for the program is $25 and includes breakfast; free to CMHRA members.
