Legion hosting jam sessions
DIXFIELD — The Dixfield American Legion will have jam sessions at 7 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 13, 20 and 27, at the the Legion Hall.
Refreshments will be available. Those attending may bring their own beverages.

Paint benefit for rehabilitation program
AUBURN — A paint night fundraiser to benefit An Angel’s Wing, an addiction rehabilitation program, will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at at the VFW Post 1303 Hall, 588 Minot Ave.
There will be snacks served, a cash bar and music. No experience is necessary, all supplies will be provided. The cost is $35.

Socrates Cafe cancels January meeting
BRIDGTON — The Socrates Cafe meeting for Monday, Jan. 15, is cancelled.
The topic and moderator will stay the same for the next scheduled meeting on Monday, Feb. 5, “How Do We Better Pursue Happiness?” with moderator Earl Morse. Those attending should bring a nonpolitical joke.
Information night on middle school transition
AUBURN — Saint Dominic Academy will host a Middle School Information Night for soon-to-be middle schoolers and existing middle school students who would like to hear more about St. Dom’s. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, in the Commons at the Auburn campus, 121 Gracelawn Road.
Topics will include the structure of the average day, innovative teaching approaches, expectations for students, and how the school prepares students for continued success in high school. Staff will also discuss financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
