WALES — Shawn Scott had five of his game-high 22 points in overtime to lead Lisbon to 56-52 victory over MVC rival Oak Hill in boys’ basketball Saturday.

The Raiders (4-9) chipped away a 16-point deficit with 4:30 remaining in the game, and Cohen Donnell sent the game into overtime with a game-tying 3-pointer with four seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. He had nine points in the contest.

Jonah Sautter had 17 points for the Greyhounds (7-6), and Seth Tapley had 10 points.

Gavin Rawstron had 13 points for Oak Hill, while Darryn Bailey also had 13 points and had 18 rebounds. Gavin Dumais had 12 points in the losing effort.

Waynflete 60, Poland 37

POLAND — Christian Brooks paced four Waynflete double-figure scorers in the Flyers’ 60-37 boys’ basketball win over Poland on Saturday.

Brooks finished with 17 points for Waynflete (10-3). Diraige Dahia added 12, Alex Saade had 11 and Dominick Campbell scored 10 points. Dahia and Saade each hit a pair of 3-pointers.

Tyler Tucci led Poland (1-10) with eight points.

Mountain Valley 57, Mt. Abram 38

RUMFORD — Jacob Blanchard drained a team-leading 13 points in a balanced attack as Mountain Valley rolled to a 57-38 victory over Mt. Abram in boys’ basketball action Saturday evening.

The Falcons (7-6) took a 21-15 lead at the midpoint, and steamed ahead with a 21-11 run in the third quarter. Will Sorensen contributed 12 points for Mountain Valley.

Sam Storer posted a team-high 13 points for the Roadrunners (1-12) in the losing effort.

Girls’ basketball

Mountain Valley 51, Lisbon 41

RUMFORD — Rylee Sevigny had 25 points to pace Mountain Valley to a 51-41 victory over Lisbon in a girls’ MVC basketball contest.

Lisbon had a 16-15 lead after one quarter before the Falcons (10-3) outscored them 26-13 in the second and third quarters.

Giana Russo led the Greyhounds (4-9) with 16 points

Hebron 49, Gould 35

BETHEL — The Hebron Academy girls’ basketball team pulled away in the third quarter to post a 49-35 win over Gould Academy on Saturday.

The Lumberjacks (5-3) outscored the Huskies 23-4 in the third, turning a 24-21 halftime lead into a comfortable 47-25 cushion.

Franceska Halloran hit three of her five 3-pointers in the third, and finished with a game-high 19 points. Maddy New made two treys in the third and finished with 11 points. Allyson Walsh contributed 10 points for Hebron.

Ava Mastroianni and Caroline Newell each scored 10 for Gould (1-5).

Hall-Dale 31, Dirigo 29

DIXFIELD — Sabrina Freeman recorded nine points in a balanced attack as Hall-Dale disposed of Dirigo with a 31-29 victory in girls’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (3-10) trailed 18-16 at the half, but came back with a strong defense in the final quarter. Amanda Benner chipped in five points for Hall-Dale.

Alexa Varnum scored a game-high 10 points for the Cougars (2-11) in the losing effort.

Boys’ ice hockey

Edward Little 4, Thornton 3, OT

BIDDEFORD — Sophomore defenseman Benlane Robichaud lifted Edward Little to victory with a short -handed goal in overtime for an Edward Little 4-3 triumph over Thornton Academy in boys’ ice hockey action Saturday.

Senior win Eli Thibodeau produced two goals, while junior Ben Cassidy added a goal and two assists for the Red Eddies (6-4).

Luke Chessie had an outstanding performance for the Trojans (5-5) with a pair of goals.

Goalie Kyle Labbe made 17 saves for Thornton, while Gavin Toussaint stopped 19 to earn the win in net for Edward Little.
