AUBURN — Constance Laura Cote Easter, 88, passed away peacefully at Sarah Frye Home on Thursday, Jan. 18.

Connie was born in Augusta on Nov. 27, 1929, the daughter of the late Michael H. and Lea (Couture) Cote.

She had lived in Mexico and graduated from Mexico High School.

Connie married Gerald Elwin Easter on July 4, 1953, at St. Theresa’s Church in Mexico. They moved to Los Angeles, Calif., until 1960, at which time they moved back to Rumford Point, where she lived until she went to live at Sarah Frye in Auburn.

She worked at Diamond National, Oxford Paper Company (coating mill) on belts, Mammoth Mart, and Andover Wood Products for 20 years.

Connie enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, walking and reading. She loved having her family all together at her home, which included her animals.

She is survived by her daughter Laurel and husband, Arnold; her son Michael and wife, Donna; her son Don; Laura Ryder, companion of late son Jerry Jr.; sisters Gloria Cote, Patricia Mercier and Lucille Norris; sister-in-law Methyl Park; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and very good friend, Rita Perry.

Connie was predeceased by her husband, Gerry Sr.; her sons Jerry Jr. and John C.; and her brother Robert Cote.

Her family would like to thank the staff of Sarah Frye Home and volunteers for their compassionate care, her friends she made there, and her two wonderful roommates, Jeannette Newman and Helene Gagnon, since May 2, 2016.
