FARMINGTON — New Ventures Maine is offering a free, one-session workshop about self-employment from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at the New Ventures office, 108 Perham St., Suite 2 in Farmington.
The workshop is geared for those who have wondered about starting their own business but are not sure how. The workshop may help people decide if self-employment is the right choice.
The class covers the pros and cons of owning a business, the steps needed for startup, the major elements of a business plan, and the many resources available to help with success. The workshop will be led by Karleen Andrews, microenterprise specialist for the Western Region of New Ventures Maine.
