AUBURN — With two minutes to go in the third quarter, the Moose of UMaine-Augusta led by 17 points. Behind the stellar play of Kristina Blais and Alex Bessey and a big second half by Jordyn Reynolds, Central Maine Community College raced past the Moose for the 74-64 win.

Reynolds led the way with a double-double, with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Blais dropped in 19 points with six assists and five steals. Bessey connected on three long balls, finishing with 15 points.

Caitlin LaFountain led the Moose with a double-double, adding 13 points and 17 rebounds. Sidney Moore and Dominique Lewis each hit for 15 points apiece.

Bates 76, Maine-Farmington 67

FARMINGTON — Junior Max Hummel scored a career-high 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting and sophomore Tom Coyne added 13 points off the bench to lead the Bates men’s basketball team to a 76-67 victory Tuesday night at Maine-Farmington.

Hummel drained five of his nine 3-point attempts and added five rebounds and two assists. Coyne knocked down three 3s and added four rebounds and two assists. 

The Beavers shot 42.9 percent from the floor, 35.3 percent from behind the arc and 70 percent at the free throw line. UMF notched 37 rebounds, 14 assists, and two steals.
