LEWISTON — Senior forward Victoria Harris tossed in a team-high 16 points as Lewiston toppled Windham 54-47 in girls’ basketball action Wednesday evening.
The Blue Devils (7-9) were slow to start, trailing 24-19 at the half, but, Lewiston turned up the tempo in the fourth quarter with a 23-12 run.
Maddy Foster and Emily Strachan contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively, for Lewiston.
Junior guard Meghan Hoffses netted a game-high 22 points for the Eagles (7-8) in the losing effort.
Boothbay 65, Mt. Abram 28
Boothbay — Boothbay held Mt. Abram to five total points in the second and third quarters en route to an easy 65-28 win in a Class C South girls’ basketball matchup on Wednesday.
Page Brown of Boothbay (16-0) led all scorers with 24, followed by Faith and Glory Blethen, who scored 15 and 13, respectively.
Mt. Abram now falls to 8-8 on the season with the loss.
Hebron 42, Waynflete 38
HEBRON — Junior guard Franceska Halloran had a fantastic outing with 22 points as Hebron shot down the Wayneflete Flyers with a 42-38 victory in girls’ basektball action Wednesday afternoon.
The Lumberjacks (9-3) jumped out to a 14-5 lead in the first quarter before Waynflete managed to pick up their game and play more even. Junior forward Reily New chipped in with seven points and 15 rebounds for Hebron.
The Flyers (4-10) went on a 10-0 run in the forth quarter, but it just wasn’t enough.
Rangeley 29, Pine Tree Academy 19
AUBURN — Junior guard Brooke Egan cast a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds as Rangeley floated a 29-19 victory over Pine Tree Academy in girls’ basketball action Wednesday afternoon.
The Lakers (14-2) led 15-11 at the break, and added a few points each of the next two quarters. Sophomore guard Lauren Eastlack provided seven points for Rangeley.
Adriana DePalma registered a team-high nine points for the Breakers in the losing effort.
Hall-Dale 51, Dirigo 32
FARMINGDALE — Junior center Cat Kincaid collected a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds as Hall-Dale ran off with a 51-32 victory over Driigo in girls’ basketball action Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (5-11) went on a 12-0 run midway through the first quarter for a 14-4 lead in the frame. Senior forward Amanda Benner contributed eight points and eight rebounds for Hall-Dale.
The Cougars (2-14) kept pace in the middle two quarters, until Hall-Dale dahsed to the finish line with a 21-11 run in the fourth quarter.
Sophia Jacques posted a team-high nine points for Dirigo in the losing effort.
Madison 50, Winthrop 41
MADISON — Senior guard Sydney LeBlanc and senior center Lauren Hay combined for 14 points each as Madison dispatched Winthrop 50-41 in girls’ basketball Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (13-3) went on a 14-6 run in the third quarter to overcome a two-point halftime deficit, and held on down the stretch.
Kena Souza notched a game-high 20 points for the Ramblers (8-8).
Monmouth 67, Wiscasset 23
MONMOUTH — Kaeti Butterfield scored a game-high 20 points as Monmouth routed Wiscasset 67-23 in girls’ basketball action Wednesday afternoon.
The Mustangs (15-1) scored 21 and 26 points in the first and fourth quarters, respectively. Abbey Allen and Destiny Clough contributed 10 points apiece for Monmouth.
Lindsey Gordon posted a team-leading 11 poins for the Wolverines (0-17) in the losing effort.
Boys’ basketball
Pine Tree Academy 55, Rangeley 33
AUBURN — Pine Tree Academy outscored Rangeley 22-10 in the third quarter to distance itself in a 55-33 win in a Class D South boys’ basketball matchup at Central Maine Community College on Wednesday.
Chris Amisi led all scorers for PTA (9-7) with 22 points, while teammate Jared Tamaleaa finished with 19.
Kyle Larochelle led Rangeley (8-7) with 11 points in the loss.
