GORHAM — Myra Wagner Bailey, 92, a lifelong resident of Livermore Falls, died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 28, at the Gorham House in Gorham, with her family by her side.

Myra was born on July 2, 1925. She was the daughter of William Lloyd and Beulah (Ramey) Wagner. She attended Livermore Falls schools and graduated from Livermore Falls High School in 1943.

Immediately after graduating, she became assistant to the superintendent of Livermore Falls public schools. She also served on the MSAD 36 school board. She was also employed for many years as an insurance agent and office manager at Dubord’s Insurance Company.

On Feb. 19,1956, Myra married Frank Nelson Bailey, owner of Bailey’s Barber Shop in Livermore Falls. Myra’s faith was very important to her and she was a dedicated and active member of Eaton Memorial United Methodist Church of Livermore Falls.

She was a photographer and golfer and coached the women’s basketball team at Livermore Falls High School. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and outdoor activities with her husband, Nelson, and her large extended family and friends. Myra was a devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Katherine Wagner, of Gorham; and nine nieces and nephews, Dale Brown of Bridgton, Kenneth Wagner of Lewiston, Peter Wagner of Wyman, Ann Wagner of Arlington, Va., Jean Wagner of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mark Wagner of Greenville, S.C., Richard Wagner of Windham, Robie Wagner of Standish, Susan Wagner of Jay; and last but not least, her beloved dog, Scooter.

Myra was predeceased by her husband, Nelson, in 1977; her brothers, Robie, Maurice, Clayton and Russell Wagner; and sisters-in-law, Gloria, Pat and Margaret Wagner.
