OAKLAND — Hannah Chaput drilled 12 points as Edward Little held on for a 47-44 victory over Messalonskee in girls’ bsektball action Friday evening.

The Red Eddies (11-5) led 40-24 after three quarters of play. The Eagles (10-6) shaved 13 points off of Edward Little’s 15-point lead at one juncture of the fourth quarter

Junior guard Grace Fontaine also pitched in with 12 points for Edward Little.

Senior guard Ally Turner compiled a game-high 23 points for Messalonskee despite the loss.

Monmouth 62, Dirigo 26

DIXFIELD — Kaeti Butterfield bucketed 12 points as Monmouth galloped to a 62-26 victory over Dirigo in girls’ basketball action Friday afternoon.

The Mustangs (16-1) took a 25-6 lead into halftime. Abbey Allen contributed 11 points for Monmouth.

Alexa Perreault and Alexa Varnum provided six points each for the Cougars (2-15) in the losing effort.

Madison 62, Carrabec 32

NORTH ANSON — Captain Sydney LeBlanc registered a game-high 14 points as Madison earned a 62-32 victory over Carrabec in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.

The Bulldogs (14-3) improved their point count with each passing quarter, ending with 19 fourth quarter wickets. Captain Lauren Hay added 13 points for Madison

Bailey Dunphy tallied a team-leading 11 points for the Cobras (6-11) in the losing effort.

Boothbay 61, Lisbon 32

LISBON — Faith Blethen tickled the twines with 26 points to lead Boothbay to a 61-32 victory over Lisbon in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.

The Seahawks finished in style with a 21-5 run in the fourth quarters. Page Brown contributed 18 points for Boothbay.

Giana Russo provided most of the Greyhounds’ offense with 23 points in the losing effort.

Oxford HIlls 58, Lewiston 41

PARIS — Sophomore Cecilia Dieterich hit for 13 points as Oxford Hills carved out a 58-41 victory over Lewiston in girls’ baketball action Friday evening.

The Vikings (14-3) created 25 turnovers to create many easy transaction baskets. Senior forward Maighraid Lalibere chipped in with 12 points for Oxford Hills.

Senior forward Gabrielle Wilson landed a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Blue Devils (7-10) in the losing effort.

Leavitt 47, Morse 31

TURNER — Sophie Giblert tossed in a game-high 23 points to lead Leavitt to a 47-31 victory over Morse in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.

The Hornets stung early, taking a 29-7 lead at the midpoint. Becca Fogg had nine points, seven steals and three assists for Leavitt.

Sierra Wallace was the leading scorer for the Shipbuilders with 14 points, including three 3-pointers, in the losing effort.

Hebron 43, Hyde 21

HEBRON — Franceska Halloran had a game-high 16 points as Hebron Academy defeated Hyde 43-21 in girls’ basketball.

Maddy New chipped in with 15 points for the Lumberjacks (11-3).

Jada Holford paced Hyde (4-10) with 12 points.

Mt. Abram 46, Telstar 25

SALEM — Summer Ross paced the Roadrunners with 22 points as Mt. Abram defeated Telstar 46-25 in an MVC girls’ basketball game.

Lindsey Huff contributed 11 points in the victory for Mt. Abram (9-8).

Calla Orino led the Rebels (1-16) with nine points.

Rangeley 40, Kents Hill 28

KENTS HILL — Natasha Haley dominated on the scoreboard and on the glass Friday night, pouring in 18 points and adding 10 rebounds to lead Rangeley past Kents Hill 40-28 in an interclass matchup.

Haley helped the lakers (15-2) pull away in the second half, turning a two-point lead into a 12-point victory. Brooke Egan added eight points and eight rebounds in the victory.

Lauren Murray his a pair of 3-pointers and Jarni Hewins added eight for the Huskies (10-5) in the loss.

Boys’ basketball

Gray-New Gloucester 64, Poland 25

GRAY — Junior guards John Martin and Zach Pomerleau posted 15 points each as Gray-New Gloucester coasted to a 64-25 triumph over Poland in boys’ basketball action Friday afternoon.

Martin and Pomerleau put a combined 22 points on the board in the third quarter for the Patriots (10-6) in a 25-2 run.

Senior guard Peter Bolduc and junior forward Tyler Romano had matching scoring for the Knights (2-14) with three field goals for seven points apiece.

Oxford Hills 70, Blue Devils 32

LEWISTON — Junior forward Colton Carson recorded a game-high 16 points to lead Oxford Hills to a 70-32 rout over Lewiston in boys’ basketball action Friday afternoon.

Senior guard Chris St.Pierre furnished 14 points, all in the first half for Oxford Hills (10-6).

The Blue Devils (2-14) were led by senior guard Jerremy Madore, who had three field goals from beyond the arc for nine points.
