Two Maine residents are facing multiple charges after state police found heroin and crack cocaine in their car on the Maine Turnpike.

Trooper Jesse Duda stopped a car for a traffic violation just before midnight Wednesday, police said Friday. The trooper found 51 grams of heroin and 31 grams of crack cocaine in the car, which had been headed north near mile 13.

Jillian Richards, 27, of Waldoboro and 36-year-old Christopher Colbert of Waterville were each charged with aggravated trafficking in heroin and crack cocaine. They are being held at York County Jail.

Police say the street value of the drugs was several thousand dollars.
