OHCHS GOT TALENT! — Students from the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School gathered in the Mark Eastman Auditorium to showcase their talents on February 9 with a variety of skills from singing and dancing to performances with violins and even a yo-yo. Finalists returned for an encore performance so that judges Luc Roy and Erin Morrell, teachers, and Assistant Principal Laurie Catanese could determine the winners; a decision they wrestled with. “When it came to judging it was so hard because they’re so talented. How do you compare singing, to playing the violin to a yo-yo?” Catanese said. First place went to violinist Sam Morton whose first performance was Composer John Williams’ opening movement of the 1994 film Shindler’s List and followed with a more jovial Celtic tune. Second Place was Lillijune Rennie, who sang Radiohead’s “Creep” accompanied by pianist Harrison Twitchell. Taking third was Leah Licata and Riley McGough for harmonizing together performing two songs by Adele.
