FARMINGTON — New Ventures Maine is offering several free workshops at three sites during March.
“Budgeting Basics” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the NVME Office, 108 Perham St., Suite 2.
Participants will learn about the basic components of building a budget, discussing money tracking, goal setting, challenges, ways to reduce expenses and how understanding the overall financial situation can be helpful in creating a budget that works.
“Your Money Personality” will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at the NVME Office. The class is suitable for adults of all ages and stages.
The instructor will use a “Money Habitudes” game to identify participants’ money management style. Developed by Syble Solomon, the process helps learn how habits and attitudes toward money affect decisions and actions related to money. They will use the results as a starting point for thinking about how to become more comfortable managing money.
A workshop for all ages, called “Clean Up Your Credit,” will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at the NVME Office.
Participants will learn how to reduce debt, improve credit, maintain a good credit score and create their own step-by-step plan to pay down debt.
