NORWAY — Dr. Daniel P. Sheridan will speak at St. Catherine’s of Sienna Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4, on “Begotten, Not Made: Why? The Nicene Creed and Us.” Sheridan will unfold the significance of the Creed for Catholic belief as well as the teaching of Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si’.

Sheridan, with a PhD from Fordham University, is a professor of theology at Saint Joseph’s College. He is past vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college. He has been on the faculties of Duquesne University and Loyola University New Orleans.

He is a scholar of the history of religions and comparative theology. He has published two books, “The Advaitic Theism of the Bhagavata Purana and Loving God: Krsna and Christ” and “A Christian’s Reflection on the Narada Sutras on Loving God” and numerous articles. He is a Roman Catholic deacon and is the director of ecumenism and interfaith relations for the Diocese of Portland.
