Pine Tree Quilters Guild meeting
NORWAY — The Pine Needles chapter of the state wide Pine Tree Quilters Guild meets from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays in the community room of the Norway Town Office, year around.
Both hand and machine quilters are welcome.
There is a schedule of optional activities such as occasional road trips, group projects and monthly trips out for lunch.

Texas Hold’em Tournament in Harrison
HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club will hold a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, March 3, at the VFW Hall. There will be a $55 entry fee. Doors will open at noon, with starting time at 1 p.m.
Refreshments will be available. The proceeds will be used to help support local children’s programs such as eye screenings, Christmas for kids and scholarships.
Contra dance to be held at church
NORWAY — A contra dance will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Christ Episcopal Church, 35 Paris St.
Music will be by the Better Late Than Never Band, with Maggie Robinson calling. Cost is $8 per person, $20 per family maximum. Beginners are welcome with or without a partner. Those attending should bring clean shoes for dancing.

Post must elect full slate to remain open
RUMFORD — Napoleon Ouellette Post 24, American Legion, will hold election of officers for the coming year on Sunday, March 4. Installation will take place at the District 5 meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18.
