Auburn Art Club to hear talk on Ireland
AUBURN — The Auburn Art Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, March 5, at the Park Avenue Methodist Church, Park Avenue.
Chairwoman will be Joyce Campbell. She will be assisted by members of her committee: Mary Goss, Donna Manson, Marie Steele and Carole Woodward.
The guest speaker will be Nicki Frye, who will present a program focusing on Dublin, Ireland. Among sites being visited will be Trinity College, Phoenix Park, Guinness and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
Rabbi to present musical program for educators
LEWISTON — The Androscoggin Retired Educators’ Association will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, at the Green Ladle at Lewiston High School. The lunch menu will be chef’s choice. The cost of the meal is $11.
The program will be Klezmer music, a musical tradition of the Ashkenazi Jews of Eastern Europe, performed by Rabbi Sruli Dresdner.
Members are continuing to collect nonperishable food items and money to be donated to a local food pantry.
All educators are welcome. They need not have taught in Androscoggin County or in the state.

College planning workshops slated
LEWISTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host free workshops, “Essentials of College Planning,” for adults 19 and older.
The workshops will be held at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29, and Wednesday, April 4, at the Lewiston Career Center, 5 Mollison Way

Auburn Church collecting hygiene products
AUBURN — The Auburn United Methodist Church is supporting the Center for Wisdom’s Women by helping supply hygiene products for the women that they serve.
Requested donations include shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, body wash, disposable razors, lotion, lip balm and feminine hygiene products.
Donations can be dropped off at 439 Park Ave.

Pinochle, pitch players welcome
LEWISTON — Pinochle and pitch card games for seniors are played weekly through May at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.
New players are always welcome. Pitch is played at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Pinochle is at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Refresher courses are available in both categories.
The armory is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Players must become a member to participate.
