AUGUSTA — Francis “Mike” Olivier, 70, of Lewiston, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta, with his family by his side, following a lengthy battle with dementia.
Mike was born Oct. 27, 1947, in Massachusetts, the son of the late Herman and Anna Mae Olivier. His family moved to Maine during his teenage years, and he was a 1966 graduate of Lewiston High School.
In the late 1960s, he served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his service in the military, he worked for 28 years at Pioneer Plastics.
Mike enjoyed all New England sports, spending time with his grandchildren, laughing, joking and enjoying life to its fullest. Mike will fondly be remembered as a wonderful dad and the best “Pepere” in the whole world.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Don and Holli Olivier, of Greene; his granddaughters, who were the loves of his life, Giovanna and Payton Olivier, of Greene; his cousins, Jane Labrie and her husband, Thom, of Greene, Libby Hopping and her husband, Ron, of Auburn; several other cousins; and his dear friends, Ann Sanocki, Jeff Sanocki and Tracy Mansour, of Rhode Island.
He was predeceased by his sister, Susan Olivier.
Mike loved his family and friends very much. He was a kindhearted, loving person and will be greatly missed.
