LEWISTON — Holy Cross Knights of Columbus will serve Take Out Beans from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 3, which will support the Rev. Robert Lacasse’s soup kitchens in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
Lacasse is a native of Lewiston. One soup kitchen was started in 2008. To meet the demands of a widespread area, another soup kitchen was added in 2010. Both were built and supported with the help of Prince of Peace Parish of Lewiston. The soup kitchens feed about 125 children daily.
Beans will be available from 1 to 4 p.m. (note the time change) at Holy Cross Church Hall, 1080 Lisbon St. Patrons may purchase a package special or “a la carte.” Orders may be called in after noon on the day of the event at 207-212-5163.

PARIS — Paris Fire Department Auxiliary will serve a corned beef and cabbage supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Paris Fire Station, Western Avenue.
Cost will be adults, $10; ages 4 to 12, $5; ages 3 and under, free.

PARIS — The third annual pasta dinner to support the Paris Public Library will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the First Congregational Church of South Paris.
The cost is $5 a person; $3 for children younger than 10; and a maximum of $20 for a family. The meal supports the Paris Public Library and the various children’s programs it provides.

SABATTUS — The Harry J. Conway Post 135, American Legion, will hold a community fundraising breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Sunday, March 4, at the post building, 40 Island Road.
The breakfast is open to Legion members and residents. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for age 10 and younger.
The post will hold a community fundraising breakfast the first Sunday of May and a special scholarship breakfast in June. April 1 is Easter Sunday, so there will be no breakfast on that day.
Proceeds from the breakfast support community and veterans’ programs, veteran rehabilitation and employment, national security, Americanism and children and youth programs.
Volunteers to help with breakfast are welcome, as are persons interested in becoming new members. Wartime veterans may go to www.mainelegion.org to join.
