PARIS — The 14th annual Head Custodians Chinese Auction is set for Saturday, March 10 at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School cafeteria.

Doors for the popular event will open at 11 a.m. and the auction will start at 1 p.m.

Since the 2001-2002 school year the head custodians have worked hard to raise funds for graduating seniors and returning college students.  During the first few years, the custodians raised funds through raffles, but eventually knew they could do better. During the 2003-2004 school year they started the Head Custodians Ticket Auction which has been a successful fund raiser since then.

Participants can purchase a set of tickets in hopes of winning big ticket items such as fuel, oil, televisions, hand-made quilts, hand-fashioned furniture or certificates for rubbish removal, pizzas oil changes, hair salon services and much more.

Dozens of tables are set up with dozens of goods from local businesses and residents.

The successful auction has set up more than 100 scholarships. Each year more than 15 scholarships amounting to $500 each are awarded during Class Night in June.

This year there will also be a 50/50 raffle, bake sale and hot dogs, chips and soda are also available.
