BANGOR — Poland’s Nathalie Theriault helped the AA/A/B South girls’ basketball team beat the North 84-81 in the opener of the Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All-Star games at Husson University on Saturday.

Theriault scored 15 points for the South. South Portland’s Meghan Graff led the South with 19 points.

Cheverus’ Emme Poulin led the North with 23 points. Also playing for the North was Edward Little’s Piper Norcross.

Poland coach Tim Dolley was on the South staff.

In the AA/A/B boys’ game, Hermon’s Jacob Godfrey put up 29 points to lead the North to a 145-120 win.

Lisbon 1,000-point scorer Jonah Sautter and Spruce Mountain’s Mason Chink played for the South.

The boys’ and girls’ teams swept the C/D All-Star games.

Taylor Schildroth scored 30 points in a 114-89 win for the North boys. Dirigo’s Cooper Chiasson suited up for the South.

Miss Maine Basketball Kolleen Bouchard, of Houlton, Central’s Sydney Allen each scored 21 for the North girls’ team in a 79-74 win over the South, which featured Monmouth Academy’s Abbey Allen and Tia Day and Rangeley’s Natasha Haley.

Monmouth’s Kaeti Butterfield was the girls’ MABC state foul shooting champion, making 49 of 50 free throws to win the title.

Old Town’s Colby Archer is the boys’ champion, beating out Mt. Blue’s Marshall Doyon and George Stevens’ Reece Dannenberg.

Lake Region’s Chandler True sank 11 3-pointers from five positions on the court to claim the All-Star Girls’ 3-point Shootout.

Godfrey, the Hermon standout, won the Dr Pepper Slam Dunk Contest.
