SOUTH PARIS — Walter L. Dubeau, 79, passed away Sunday, March 4, at the Maine Veterans’ Home.

He was born Sept. 14, 1938, to Ernest A. and Stella M. (Dion) Dubeau. Walter served in the United States Army from 1956-1959.

Walter was a truck driver for Lily, Grondin, Ryder and Northeast Paving. He worked for the cities of South Portland and Cape Elizabeth as well as working part time for the South Portland Police Department in the 1970s. Walter worked as a carpenter for many years and was a union carpenter for part of that time. He also worked at HCI Corp. as a commercial overhead and rolling steel door installer.

Walter was a member of the East Otisfield Baptist Church. He enjoyed trains, woodworking, Western movies, bingo and having a picnic table business with his son.

Walter is survived by his son, Walter K. Dubeau, and wife, Rebecca, of Norway; brother, Robert E. (Ann), of Fitchburg, Wis.; sister, Elaine (Ralph) White, of Gray; brother, Gordon (Janice), of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister, Gloria (Paul) Beeler, of Scarborough; brother, Ernest W. (Cindy), of Bridgton; sister, Darlene Tucci (Dominic), of Old Orchard Beach; cousin, Pauline Robinson, of Berlin, N.H.; sister-in-law, Alice “Fredericka” Williams, of Orlando, Fla.; sister-in-law, Betty Parsons, of Rockland; brother-in-law, Charles Amborn, of Lincolnville; sister-in-law, Barbara Collemer, of Lincolnville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian Amelia (Amborn) Dubeau, in 2010; and a brother-in-law, Fred Amborn, of Colorado.
