BRUNSWICK — Constance J. Wills, 77, of Middle Road, Woolwich, died Friday, March 16, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 17, 1940, a daughter of Adelard J. and Irene Lalonde Veilleux and was educated in the local schools, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1959.
Constance worked at Commercial Corp. while still in school and was hired full-time upon graduation until moving to Bath. In September 1961 she married Ronald E. Wills and they made their home in Bath.
After moving to Bath, she held many jobs at local businesses, including Maine Shoe Corp. in Brunswick and M.W. Sewall in Bath, where she worked from 1984-2005.
She acquired many interests over the years. Always being one to be involved with her children’s lives, most of the time her interests centered around them, volunteering at their school with whatever role she was asked from 1970-1988. Constance always took great pride in not only her children but the bettering of the other children within the community, dedicating many hours to the Kennebec Girl Scout Council, holding many titles such as Brownie leader and secretary for many years. The Boy Scouts also became a part of her life with her sons being involved from 1974 until 1984.
When Constance wasn’t dedicating lots of hours daily to the many volunteer jobs she happily took part in, she found a little time for herself. Always enjoying the opportunity to do crafts, she expanded her passion into ceramic, crochet, plastic canvas crafts and many more. Her true passion was genealogy. Spending countless hours researching her family, she was able to trace her father’s French ancestral lines into France, and her mother’s English lines back to her ancestors being captured by Indians.
Constance was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Veilleux.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronald; a daughter, Cathy Bliss and her husband, Randy, of Madison; two sons, Dan and his wife, Leah Wills, of Goffstown, N.H., and John and his wife, Sarah Wills, of West Moreland, N.H.; and two grandchildren, Amanda and Stewart Wills; along with many friends and loved ones.
