FARMINGTON — Adrian and look-alike cats Satin and Silky are the Pets of the Week at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.
Satin and Silky could be identical twins. “They really are virtually interchangeable,” said shelter media and fundraising coordinator Dory Diaz after sending photographs of the pets to the Sun Journal. “We think this is Silky,” she said about one photo, but it could have been Satin.
The female Cats of the Week are between 1 and 3 years old, and the shelter hopes to place the cats in a home together.
Adrian is the Dog of the Week. He is a Lab mix between 1 and 3 years of age. He is playful and strong, and he seeks an active family that will take him running or hiking and be willing to teach him manners, too.
The shelter encourages prospective families of Adrian to bring their dog, if they have one, for a meet and greet with Adrian. While he gets along with dogs — he prefers female dogs — he should not enter into a home with cats.
Adrian, Silky, Satin and other pets may be visited at the shelter from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at 550 Industry Road. Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, microchipped and have had nail trims. The shelter also rehomes barn cats, livestock and other pets.
