NORWAY — An Oxford woman charged Tuesday with breaking into a woman’s home to confront her about a Facebook post was released from jail Wednesday, according to authorities.

Sarah Green, 33, was arrested at her home at 11 Country Lane in Oxford on charges of  Class B burglary and Class C aggravated criminal trespassing, and taken to the Oxford County Jail in Paris.

Norway police officer Stephen Cronce wrote in an affidavit that a woman on Solon Street reported Green “barged into her residence and assaulted her over a Facebook post.” After the woman asked Green to leave, Green “took a ceramic bowl that the victim was eating from and threw it at her face, causing a bruise on her left lower jaw near her ear. Green then allegedly punched (the woman) in the chest before she left,” Cronce wrote.

When Cronce found Green later Tuesday evening, she admitted to “verbally assaulting (the woman), but did not physically lay a hand on her,” according to the affidavit.

At the jail, Green “excitedly uttered that when she went to confront (the woman) tonight, she wouldn’t come out of her house,” Cronce wrote.

On Wednesday, Green appeared in 11th District Court in Paris where bail was set at $500 cash, or personal recognizance with a supervised release contract with Maine Pretrial Services. She is barred from having contact with the woman, prohibited from using or possessing alcoholic beverages or drugs, including marijuana, and is subject to random searches and testing.
