A recent report from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration put auto accidents as the No. 1 killer of teenagers. And national statistics show that drivers between the ages of 16 and 17 are nearly nine times more likely to have an accident than middle-aged drivers. So maybe we should ban cars. There are more deaths from auto accidents than guns.
Gun control will not work — any kind of gun control. Look at Chicago, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the U.S. It also has more gun-related deaths than any other city. The person who wants a gun will get a gun; no law will stop that.
I think we would have better luck with changing the laws on driving — no driver’s license until age 21, or at the very least, 18.
