DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are seeking donations of fabric and craft supplies for our annual Fabric & Craft Supply Fair on April 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at High Street Congregational Church, 106 Pleasant St., Auburn. Donations of fabric, yarn and craft supplies may be dropped off Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

DEAR SUN SPOTS:  Each year The Franco-American Education Foundation awards numerous scholarships to deserving senior students of Franco-American heritage. Students must reside in Lewiston, Auburn, Lisbon, Sabattus, Greene, Turner, Minot or Poland. They must be about to graduate or have graduated from high school or obtained a GED and be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning.

Applications can be found at the guidance office of each respective high school. You can also log on to our website at francoamericanfdn.org, or send a request to our email at FrancoAmericanEducation@gmail.com. This year, the completed application and all required attachments must be received no later than April 30 for consideration. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years for students who have successfully earned a 2.5 or better GPA. We ask for parents and grandparents to encourage their senior students to apply.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: There’s a new scholarship opportunity for Edward Little High School graduating seniors. The Class of 1976 has established a memorial scholarship to honor class members who have passed on. The first scholarship in the amount of $1,976 will be awarded this year to a graduating senior. The deadline for applying is May 1.

Our annual fundraising event is a Memorial Walk on Whitman Spring Road (Spring Road) in North Auburn. This year’s event will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 9. For more information contact Julia Copp @Juliacopp2@gmail.com .

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Clean Sweep, the giant yard sale at Bates College, will be held Saturday, June 16. We’re looking for volunteer organizations to help with tasks that always make this event a huge success. We especially need groups who can donate tables or help with lifting and moving furniture on the day of the sale. Your organization can earn money from the profits of the sale for volunteering or providing tables.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Lewiston Elks Lodge is having a huge indoor garage sale.  We need donations for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program and are accepting any donation subject to inspection for the garage sale. If anyone is doing spring cleaning and would like to donate, leave items from 4 to 7 p.m. April 15-19 at the Lewiston Elks Lodge, 1675 Lisbon St.
