LEWISTON — Police say a Lisbon man threatened on social media to blow up a Department of Health and Human Services building.
Alexander Hanks, 24, of 30 Sabattus Creek Drive, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of terrorizing, a charge punishable by up to five years in prison. Bail was set at $2,500 cash.
Lisbon police obtained an arrest warrant for Hanks and a search warrant for his home, according to a news release. No firearms nor bomb-making materials were found.
At about 6 p.m. Wednesday, Hanks was arrested in Lewiston by Lisbon police who were assisted by Lewiston police. He was taken to Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.
His first court date is scheduled for June at Androscoggin County Superior Court in Auburn.
