DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Maine Senior Farm Share Program will be available for seniors to sign-up at 4 Season Farm Market in New Auburn beginning Wednesday, April 18. Stop by the shop at the corner of Mill and Third streets (across from the former Pontbriand building) and sign up for your share.

Seniors must be income- and age-eligible for the $50 share of produce that will be supplied throughout the growing season by Valley View Farm. Produce will be available for pick-up at 4 Season Farm Market Tuesdays through Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m., and at Valley View Farm at the Sunday Lewiston Farmers’ Market at the Bates Mill parking lot that begins Sunday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

If we have enough Auburn seniors sign up for shares, an additional pick-up site will be arranged for the Tuesday Auburn Farmers’ Market, located at Rolly’s Diner parking lot, beginning June 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. For more information, call Kathy Shaw at 207-320-1969.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The United New Auburn Association, Sherwood Heights School, L/A Boys and Girls Club and the Auburn Recreation Department invite all our young folks and the young at heart to the annual May Day Egg Hunt on Sunday, May 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Sherwood School athletic fields in New Auburn. The fields will be loaded with colorful eggs for gathering. We will have games to play, a May Pole for dancing and weaving , a plant-a-seed station, prize baskets, “minute to win it” games and maybe even a few baby animals from Valley View Farm.

Depending as we do on our dedicated volunteers, and relying solely upon donations, we are asking for our community to help with wrapped candy donations for the egg hunters’ baskets and small new toys for the game prizes. Your donations can be delivered to Ken Blais at Rolly’s Diner in New Auburn.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We spoke to our mailman about returning all the junk mail we receive. He said that if you put a stamp on it and write “Return Mail” on the envelope, it will be sent back. If there is no stamp on it, it is put in the recycling bin.

—No name, no town

ANSWER: This is follow-up advice for the Sun Spots on March 19 and 23. Before using a stamp, I would definitely check with your post office. In the past, I have simply written “Refused” on the envelope and it has curtailed my junk mail significantly. I will say, the best remedy for this unwanted mail to is to write to or call the company and let them know you want to be removed from all mailing lists.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was reading about the knitted doll blankets for the Auburn after-school program children and was wondering why Washburn School was not mentioned?

—No name, no town

ANSWER: Regarding Sun Spots, March 30, the writer, Anne, specified four schools and did not mention Washburn School. She may have her hands full working with the other schools! If you have a question about where to drop off yarn, please call Anne at 207-689-4267 or at 207-784-8365.
