LEWISTON — The University of Southern Maine (USM) and the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) will hold an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College (LAC), 51 Westminster St.
This first-ever joint open house of the two universities will provide an opportunity for prospective students to meet with admissions staff of both schools and learn more about USM and UMA degree programs, financial aid and tuition costs.
Registration is now open for summer and fall 2018 classes, and anyone interested in taking classes on a part-time or full-time basis is encouraged to attend.
UMA has recently introduced new programs in business and public administration at the Lewiston campus, along with two baccalaureate degrees in applied science and liberal studies for community college graduates who have earned an associate’s degree. An option to enroll in education classes that provide a pathway for K-12 teaching opportunities is also now available.
UMA’s new programs are being offered alongside USM undergraduate programs in leadership and organizational studies, natural and applied sciences and social and behavioral sciences. At the graduate level, students can choose from USM’s leadership studies and occupational therapy programs.
As USM and UMA build on partnership, additional options under consideration for Lewiston-Auburn College include expanded offerings in nursing and health professions, occupational therapy, cyber security, justice studies and mental health and human services.
Anyone interested in attending the open house can RSVP at umaadm@maine.edu. For more information, call 1-877-862-1234, UMA, or 1-800-800-4876, USM.
