Season outlook: With nine seniors, Edward Little looks to improve on last year’s 7-6 record in 2018, the second season under KVAC Class A Coach of the Year Jim Dock. Defense will be the Red Eddies’ strength, and the graduation of 2017 leading scorer Ganan Mancini leaves a hole in their offense that will need to be filled. After sitting out his freshman season with an injury, sophomore Gunnar Winslow will make his goaltending debut this spring.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER

Season outlook: While the Patriots do not have any true varsity experience on the roster, Parkin said they do have a core group of players that have been on the team since their freshman year. That core group combined with several newcomers have put in a lot of work to improve their lacrosse skills and fitness levels. Executing in all phases of the game and limiting mental mistakes will be important this season as the GNG adjusts to the speed and overall skill level of the varsity game. Parkin said this is a hard-working and focused group that is excited for the challenge of a Class C varsity schedule.

LEWISTON

Season outlook: The Blue Devils have a solid core of returning players who will be vital in teaching the younger players. They lost some players at key spots, but Fournier said last year’s backups are ready to step up and take on bigger roles. He expects this will be a challenging year with a new schedule of teams that historically the Blue Devils haven’t seen during the regular season.

Season outlook: Mt. Blue returns a lot of experience from a team that lost many close games last year. The Cougars are looking to flip those outcomes and put themselves in position to make the playoffs. Averill said this is the most athletic team he has had at Mt. Blue, so the team will be able to play fast and aggressive.

OAK HILL

The Vikings have a lot of young talent in each class, and they look forward to the work to be accomplished this season.

ST. DOM’S

Season outlook: St. Dom’s is young, with just three seniors and three juniors on the roster. Matteson said the Saints have worked hard in the preseason and may experience some growing pains early but should see the dividends of their hard work at the end of the year.

WINTHROP/MARANACOOK

Coach: Zach Stewart (seventh year)

Season outlook: Stewart said the Ramblers are an extremely young team that works hard. He expect them to show up to every game and leave it on the field.
