DEAR SUN SPOTS: It may only be April, but the Farmington Falls Fire Co. members are already thinking about July. Plans are coming together for their annual Benefit Yard Sale and Chicken BBQ. All proceeds from the day’s events go toward the Farmington Falls Youth Baseball Programs. Clean donations for the yard sale are needed. The committee is accepting donations now for storage until July. For information on how to drop off your donation or have it picked up and taken to the fire station, please call and leave a message for Bob at 207-778-3156 or Junior at 207-778-2181.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Could you give me the contact information for the craft supply sale I’ve seen in Sun Spots recently? Thanks! Sun Spots is a great service!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I think I have found a stumper for you. I wrote once before asking about invisible mending. You gave me two sources, but neither of them does this kind of work. Does anyone out there know of a seamstress who does this? I’m crossing my fingers. Thank you for all you do.

— No name, no town

ANSWER: OK, faithful readers! Do you know of a local seamstress who does “invisible mending?” Let’s help this person — please write in!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m interested in applying for a Postal Exam, but I don’t have a computer. Is there any way you could find me a phone number or address so I can contact them? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

— Catherine, Lewiston

ANSWER:  You can try this USPS Customer Service number: 800-275-8777, but it really looks like you need a computer to order the test, pay for it, and take it. If you have a friend or relative who can help you, that would be great. You can also contact your local library to use a computer and log in to create an account on the USPS website. You will find good information here: postalexamweb.com/get-started/. You must begin your application for all USPS positions online. To register you only need to supply your name and email address, a user name and a password. The website will guide you through.

This column is for you, our readers. It is for your questions and comments. There are only two rules: You must write to the column and sign your name (we won’t use it if you ask us not to). Please include your phone number. Letters will not be returned or answered by mail, and telephone calls will not be accepted. Your letters will appear as quickly as space allows. Address them to Sun Spots, P.O. Box 4400, Lewiston, ME 04243-4400. Inquiries can also be emailed to sunspots@sunjournal.com.
