There is a serious undertow in America today — far too many disillusioned youth who feel there is no place at the table often referred to as the “American dream.”
Young people have been allowed to squander in a morass of shattered lives and broken dreams. Parents and teachers alike must instill in young people a sense of hope and realistic expectations.
A good place to start would be to set a good example while demonstrating and encouraging a concerted effort that could lead to improvement and a realistic outcome.
The American dream is not a myth. An honest effort and a little elbow grease will be rewarded.
Young people are watching; their voices and concerns need to be heeded. We cannot let them fall between the cracks.
